Current Implementation at the Pointe-à-Callière Museum
A recent implementation of fylr in Canada showcases the successful project at Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal’s Museum of Archaeology and History. In Fall 2023, the museum migrated all of its Cumulus catalogs (formerly Canto) to Programmfabrik’s fylr platform. This migration enabled a comprehensive optimization of the entire workflow for documenting object collections as part of a project to make the museum’s ethnohistorical collection accessible online. The project was supported by PDionne Photo Inc., a certified fylr partner of Programmfabrik since March 2023 and formerly a certified partner of the Cumulus network. An in-depth analysis led to the decision in favor of fylr, selected for its open-source architecture, API functionalities, and extensive metadata management capabilities.
